Hybrid Auto Rickshaw Team TUDelft was able to start up thanks to Enviu who came up with the sustainable idea of making auto rickshaws 40%-60% more efficient.
Many know that traffic and pollution is becoming a huge problem in Asia. The CO2 emissions are becoming a bigger problem by the day. The CO2 reduction in the auto rickshaws will enable cleaner air and will also decreasing fuel consumption. In return, the decrease in fuel consumption will increase the wages of the auto rickshaw drivers. Its a win-win situation.
However, for it to be a win-win situation, the upgrade we design has to be a affordable one. The prospects should be appealing for the rickshaw driver. So the pay back period in case of a loan should not be too long.
